Face2Gene
Face2Gene, made by the company FDNA, is used by doctors and genetic counselors around the world. It looks at a person's facial photograph together with their clinical information, then gives a ranked list of genetic conditions that may match, including ReNU2.
-
There are two routes, depending on whether your family member already has a diagnosis.
Already diagnosed with ReNU2: fill in the Face2Gene registration form to submit photos. Your photos help train Face2Gene to recognize ReNU2.
No genetic diagnosis yet: go to the FDNA Family Health Checker and enter the code RENU01. You'll answer some questions, then upload photos to get a report of "best-matched conditions." Please take that report to your doctor or genetic counselor.
-
Face2Gene uses artificial intelligence (AI) to compare facial features in photographs with features known to be linked to genetic conditions. It is a tool to support doctors, not a diagnosis on its own.
-
Each photo from a family with a confirmed ReNU2 diagnosis helps the tool learn what ReNU2 can look like. Over time, this may help doctors think of ReNU2 sooner for families still searching for answers.
-
People with a confirmed ReNU2 diagnosis can submit photos through the registration form.
People without a genetic diagnosis can use the Family Health Checker. This option is currently only available to US residents.
The Family Health Checker report can currently suggest dominant ReNU and dominant ReNU2, but not yet recessive ReNU2.
